Dubai’s New Startup Accelerator Fuels Innovation & Growth
Dubai is opening its doors wide for startups! The Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) and the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy have teamed up with global innovation leader Plug and Play to launch a new three-month accelerator programme. This programme is for post-revenue startups—companies that are already making money and are ready to grow bigger.
Strategic Support for Digital Innovation
The accelerator will help startups connect with big companies like DHL, du, and Visa, get advice from expert mentors, meet investors, and expand into new markets. The first group of startups will focus on Trade & Logistics, Connectivity & Digital Solutions, and Fintech. These are key areas that Dubai is investing in to grow its economy and become a hub for digital innovation.
Core Benefits for Participating Startups
Startups in the accelerator will get:
- Direct contact with major corporations for partnerships and expansion
- Guidance from experienced mentors in marketing, finance, and product development
- Support in raising funds from investors and entering the Dubai market
The D33 Agenda and Economic Impact
The programme also supports the Dubai Economic Agenda, D33, which aims to double Dubai’s economy by 2033. Dubai hopes this will help create 30 unicorns and turn 400 small businesses into large ones by 2033, making the city a global innovation hub.
| Target Focus Areas | Economic Goals (D33) |
|---|---|
| Trade & Logistics | Create 30 unicorns |
| Connectivity & Digital Solutions | Turn 400 small businesses into large ones |
| Fintech | Double Dubai’s economy by 2033 |
