Regulatory Updates and Enhanced Services in Dubai
Recent developments have significantly enhanced the consumer landscape in the UAE. Dubai firms have scrapped the fee needed to acquire a licence to buy alcohol in the emirate. Maritime & Mercantile International (MMI) has removed the fee for a personal alcohol licence, following the announcement by the Government of Dubai to remove the 30% municipality tax on sales of alcoholic beverages. These recently updated regulations are instrumental to continue ensuring the safe and responsible purchase and consumption of alcoholic beverages in Dubai and the UAE.
Furthermore, Dubai-based alcohol retailer MMI has launched its upgraded home delivery service, MMI Home Delivery. This service promises free delivery within four hours, be it chilled beers or wines. The new home delivery service is accessible to all Dubai users holding a valid personal alcohol license. Delivery services are facilitated by MMI’s dedicated and expert-trained staff and drivers, using cooled vehicles and delivery bikes equipped with state-of-the-art insulated bags and ice packs.
Expanding the Retail Footprint
MMI brings more to life to the residents of Dubai Marina with their new store. On 21st February 2024, MMI opened its 23rd store in the UAE, in the bustling Dubai Marina, offering customers a vast selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Customers will also benefit from the expertise of the stores’ friendly and knowledgeable Wine Spirit and Educational Trust (WSET)-certified staff.
