Investment Analysis: Raising Rocket Lab Price Targets and Evaluating Macy’s Turnaround Strategy
I'm Raising My Rocket Lab Price Target to a Wall Street High. The stock surged off of that 50-day SMA, gaining acceleration from the swing crowd as it ripped through its 21-day exponential moving average (EMA). Readers will also see that within the daily MACD (moving average convergence divergence), the histogram of the 9-day EMA has moved above the zero-bound while the 12-day EMA has crossed back above the 26-day EMA. These are all short to medium-term bullish indicators. I will then adjust my target price and underlying levels for Rocket Lab USA (RKLB).
Rocket Lab Technical Indicators and Strategy
My plan is to take a profit on the portion that I added on September 5. For the new kids, that's called "trading around a core position" and it's something done frequently at the professional level. I believe this $63 target will again make me the high target on Wall Street. However, readers need to be cognizant that RKLB is now at risk of potentially forming a Double Top pattern of bearish reversal. Should the Double Top prevail, the downside pivot would be all the way down at $38 and would involve the loss of said 50-day SMA.
Key Metrics for RKLB
- Price Target: $63 (up from $55)
- Pivot: $54 (crescent high), up from $48
- Add: Down to the 50-day SMA (currently $45)
- Panic: On loss of the 200-day SMA (currently $30)
Macy’s Retail Turnaround and Market Performance
Macy’s stock jumped over 20% after delivering its first same-store sales growth in three years in Q2. CEO Tony Spring’s ambitious turnaround strategy—shutting 150 underperforming stores, reinvesting in top locations, and pushing premium labels—is finally showing signs of life. With raised revenue and profit forecasts, Macy’s is signaling confidence even as U.S. holiday spending faces headwinds. The stock trades above $16, marking a 75% rebound from April’s lows and a 49% gain over the past three months.
From a valuation standpoint, Macy’s is trading at just 7.3 times forward earnings and 0.16 times forward sales, both notably below the broader sector median. While instincts and the fundamentals may be telling investors to run away, options traders – the true smart money – appear to be bidding up its derivative contracts, suggesting that a shocking turnaround could be in place. Net trade sentiment stood at $88,000 in favor of the bulls, and there were more than twice as much dollar volume bets favoring the optimists than the pessimists.
Broad Market Outlook and Value Opportunities
In our 2025 Market Outlook, we noted that the market was priced to perfection, trading at a relatively rare premium to fair value. Losses have been concentrated among those stocks that are most highly correlated with artificial intelligence. AI stocks are generally contained in the growth and core categories, which have sold off. Conversely, undervalued value stocks have not only held their ground but also have risen. We continue to advocate investors to overweight: Value stocks, which trade at a 13% discount to fair value.
